Jot Coffee Subscription Review: Delicious Coffee in Seconds

You may already know how a coffee subscription can make your life so much easier, but what if I told you there was a way to make it even more so?

While nothing beats brewing a good cup of freshly roasted and ground coffee, sometimes you just don’t have time.

That’s why, when I found out about Jot Coffee, I was so eager to try it out. Could regular coffee in the form of an easy-to-use concentrate really taste as good as a freshly brewed cup? The answer just might surprise you.

Jot Coffee Company: History/Overview

Let’s talk a little bit about Jot Coffee as a company. Since they only sell one product with three variations, the Ultra Coffee in Original, Dark, or a rotating Member Exclusive, this company definitely differs from its competitors. You may be wondering where the coffee that goes into this concentrated creation is from.

Jot sources the Orignal and Dark blends of Ultra Coffee from organic farms that are located in forests in South America, Central America, and Indonesia. The forests are intact so there’s no monocropping or deforestation involved. They also prioritize sourcing coffee that’s produced by woman-owned and operated coffee farms.

Overall, Jot Coffee strives to be better for the planet, coffee farms, their communities, and their customers. They claim their product is coffee in its purest and most delicious form.

They find not only the best possible beans but also roast and extract them in a way that ensures you’re getting the best amount of flavor and perfection. Their extraction process leaves a concentrate that’s 20 times stronger than a regular cup of drip coffee.

When I received a subscription box in the mail from Jot Coffee, I was very curious and very excited to unbox it and try out this interesting form of coffee that I hadn’t experienced before. Sure, I’d tried cold brew concentrate, but this was something on another level.

As I mentioned above, Jot’s Ultra Coffee concentrates are 20 times stronger than your traditional coffee, so you only need to use one tablespoon of their creation in order to craft your favorite coffee beverage.

No matter whether you prefer to drink your coffee hot or cold, as a latte or regular cup of coffee, each bottle of Jot Ultra Coffee contains 14 servings. This means 14 delicious ways to enjoy your quick and easy morning sip.

2 bottles of Jot Ultra Coffee and 2 glasses of Jot in an open box

In the box from Jot, I received both a bottle of the Original Ultra Coffee as well as a bottle of the Dark Ultra Coffee. Not only that, but I also got a specialized measuring spoon for easy preparation.

Jot even included two beautiful glass cups featuring detailed coffee plant designs. If I wasn’t already excited to try Jot, I sure was now!

I decided to start by trying the Original Ultra Coffee, which is said to be perfect for easy drinking due to its smooth and balanced flavor profile.

If you’re looking for a traditional iced coffee, this would be the way to go because of its rich and creamy qualities.

When preparing my Jot cup with the Original concentrate, I decided to keep it simple and just use water and ice so that I could really taste it. So, after measuring out my tablespoon of the Original Ultra Coffee, I added ice and 8 ounces of water.

I was overall pleasantly surprised with how much I enjoyed this take on an iced coffee. The taste was smooth and balanced as promised and worked as a nice and strong coffee beverage perfect for busy mornings. I didn’t feel the desire to add anything to this and I’ll admit I happily finished it off.

Dark Ultra Coffee

Jot Dark - Organic Coffee Concentrate

The purest, most concentrated form of liquid coffee in the world. Ultra Coffee is uncommonly smooth, with unmatched clarity of flavor. A tablespoon is all you need to transform any liquid into a truly remarkable cup.

The next bottle of Jot I received, the Dark Ultra Coffee, is said to be even bolder than the Original. It’s a dark roast brew that is woody, syrupy, and perfect for those who typically enjoy a cold brew.

While I was happy with the simple ice and water method that I used with the Original Ultra Coffee, I was curious to try Jot using a latte format. So, I pulled out my second Jot cup, measured a tablespoon of the concentrate, added ice, and then 8 ounces of milk.

The taste, despite the addition of milk, was clearly much more bold than the Original Ultra Coffee. It worked perfectly as a latte base, but I could definitely see how it could work great as a cold brew replacement, as well.

Not featured in the box I received is Jot Coffee’s Seasonal Exclusives. This is a rotating limited batch option that allows you to always try something new every couple of months, such as a rare arabica from Vietnam or coffee grown in volcanic soil in Rwanda. This option is also known as a Member Exclusive since it’s only available to subscribers.

Whether you’re looking to try something different, or stick with the classic Orignal or Dark Ultra Coffee options, each bottle has 7.4 fluid ounces of coffee concentrate that can make up to 14 cups of delicious coffee. The ingredients simply include water and Jot’s organic coffee.

With a subscription from Jot Coffee, you can get specialized tasty coffee automatically delivered right to your door every four weeks. It’s super adjustable, letting you add or change out coffees, skip deliveries, or pause your subscription.

What’s even better is that you can always get 25% off your Jot Coffee when you’re subscribed. Subscribers can also get other great features, such as early access to rare Member Exclusive coffees, VIP support, and free surprise gifts.

Jot Coffee: Roasting

When it comes to Jot’s roasting information, things are a bit different than your traditional coffee bean subscription, as you might suspect. There isn’t much information on how they roast their beans, exactly, but they have a lot to say about their extraction process as a whole.

Jot’s Ultra Coffee is brewed using a progressive enrichment process. What this means is that the system for brewing the coffee is closed, so nothing is added or taken away in the process of creating their level of coffee concentration. It uses a temperature-controlled extraction process which allows for a more potent outcome compared to something like instant coffee.

Jot works to maximize the yield of every bean, which turns out to be 60 percent more than cold brew, yet they don’t ever over-extract the beans. They also compost all of their spent grounds, so nothing goes to waste.

The Ultra Coffee products contain a varying caffeine content, dependent on soil, climate, and harvest time, of 140-150 milligrams per tablespoon, which is how much it takes to craft a cup of coffee using the concentrate. With a traditional cup of coffee, dependent on sourcing, roasting, and brewing, the caffeine content can range from 75-200 milligrams.

Jot Coffee: Pricing

One of the many great things about Jot Coffee is the amount of money you save compared to going to your local coffee shop every day.

Since you only need to use a tablespoon of concentrate for every cup of coffee, no matter how you decide to prepare it, each bottle contains enough to make 14 servings of 10-ounce cups.

As I mentioned earlier, if you choose to get a subscription with Jot Coffee, you’ll get 25% off each product.

At the time of writing, each bottle costs about $26 on its own, whether you’re choosing to buy the Original or Dark Ultra Coffee. However, with the subscription, you can get both of the classic Ultra Coffee options or the rotating Member Exclusive option for $19.50 each.

With that math, you’d only be paying a couple of dollars for each coffee that you can make with just one bottle of Jot Ultra Coffee.

What’s even better is that Jot will cover shipping costs on orders containing three or more bottles of coffee. If you’re only wanting two bottles, the shipping would be $3.95, and if you’re only wanting one bottle, the shipping would be $7.95.

Jot also offers full refunds within 20 days if you find that you don’t like their Ultra Coffee, though that’s highly unlikely!

If you’re looking to get the beautiful coffee glasses that Jot sent me, you’ll be glad to hear that you can get them free with your first order! All first orders include a free gift of $20-$30 value, and you can choose these glasses or one of the other tumblers or travel mugs Jot has available on their site.

What Makes Jot Coffee Unique?

Obviously, the main thing that sets Jot Coffee apart from other coffee subscriptions is the fact that they sell a coffee concentrate rather than bags of roasted coffee beans.

You can combine just a tablespoon of this strong liquid coffee into hot or cold water, your choice of milk, or just a bit of cream for a stronger kick. You can even use this in baking recipes or over ice cream to really spice things up!

If you’re wanting to drink the concentrate straight, you can, but it’s important to note that each tablespoon has around 140-150 milligrams of caffeine, so take it easy!

Jot’s also unique because it’s much cheaper per cup of coffee than going to a coffee shop every morning and it takes just seconds to whip up a glass, making it possibly the easiest and most efficient form of coffee preparation. So, an easy and cost-saving coffee product that’s also super delicious, I’d call that a win!

How To Cancel Jot Coffee

Since you can update your subscription with Jot Coffee at any time through their subscription portal, you can always make changes to your order, skip deliveries you might not need, pause your subscription, or even cancel.

If you’ve decided you no longer want to receive your subscription from Jot Coffee, you can easily cancel it by using the subscription portal for your account on Jot’s website.

Jot Ultra Coffee Dark and Jot Ultra Coffee Original

Overall, Jot is a convenient and unique coffee subscription, with great options and benefits. Whether you’re looking for something simple and tasty, dark and bold, or an ever-changing surprise, the Ultra Coffee products are convenient and delicious.

Jot’s coffee creation leaves you with an easy brewing process. Pour a tablespoon into your cup, add your preferred milk or water temperature, stir it up, enjoy, and refrigerate the rest of the bottle to keep it fresh.

This coffee subscription really surprised me with its contents and quality, especially the Original Ultra Coffee, as that one was the tastiest and definitely my favorite.
