When consumed in a reasonable manner, coffee can be beneficial to our health; it can lessen the effects of heart disease and diabetes!
However, for some of us, that doesn’t always mean it makes you feel the greatest. Choosing a high-quality organic coffee can make all the difference in the world when it comes to drinking the energizing beverage.
Purity Coffee is a company that focuses on the health benefits of its coffee to ensure beneficial brews that taste just as good, if not better, than traditional beans on the market. That’s why when I received a box full of their most popular products, I was excited to see how they compared to what I usually drink.

Purity Coffee: Company History/Overview
The Purity Coffee company is one that started thanks to Andrew Salisbury, whose wife, Amber, was dealing with chronic fatigue even through a healthy lifestyle.
As she looked towards coffee for help, Andrew worried that would only make things worse. After a bet, he strove to prove that coffee was bad for Amber. However, in the process, he ended up finding out about all of the great health benefits that good coffee can provide.
This led to Andrew creating Purity Coffee, which sold its first bag of beans in 2016. The company’s mission is to improve the health of individuals through coffee since it’s consumed by so many.
Purity Coffee believes that coffee is a good representation of a healthy superfood, but a lot of people actually don’t consume good quality coffee.
Without high-quality organic coffee at hand, the awesome health benefits of coffee beans aren’t reached and instead can include harmful chemicals and even mold contamination.

When I received my box from Purity Coffee in the mail, I was excited because they gave me four full bags of beans to try from their selections. In the box was their Calm Decaf Medium Roast, Protect Light-Medium Roast, Flow Original Medium Roast, and Ease Dark Roast.
Four different types of roasts with four different health benefits. Now it was just time to see if they all tasted as good as they are beneficial. So, I pulled out the beans and got to brewing.
Calm: Decaf Medium Roast
Fresh-roasted, organic Swiss Water® 99.9% decaffeinated, specialty grade, antioxidant-rich whole bean coffee delivered straight to your door. Clean, delicious, healthy coffee for as little as 65 cents per cup!
The first coffee I tried from Purity is their Calm; a decaf medium roast that’s a specialty-grade organic Arabica coffee and is 99.9% decaffeinated by a chemical-free natural Swiss Water Process.
This bag of beans is also full of antioxidants, anti-inflammatory, USDA Organic certified, Smithsonian Bird Friendly, and Rainforest Alliance certified.

The tasting profile for Purity’s decaf roast includes dark chocolate, vanilla, and sweet red apple acidity. They worked hard to create this specialty roast for coffee lovers who want the yummy drink with all its great benefits, but not so much the caffeine.
Calm is made up of the same high-quality coffee as Purity’s other blends, but their coffee roaster guarantees that the roasters are clean of any regular coffee before working with the decaf. These beans are roasted in a way that retains chlorogenic acids as well as a good balance of sweetness and acidity.

Decaf coffee’s health benefits include protection against Type 2 diabetes, liver damage, cancer, and more. Purity Calm also guarantees an organic and chemical-free tasty drinking experience.
Upon opening my bag of Calm, the aroma from the decaf medium roast was very sweet and bright. You could really smell the apple note, which came through even more once the coffee was brewed.
I will say that the taste of this cup of coffee was very soft and mild, and the only note that especially came through for me seemed to be the apple. It’s definitely an easy drink for those looking to get a nice-tasting decaf coffee.

Protect: Light-Medium Roast
Our light-medium roasted coffee with sweet citrus characteristics, sourced and roasted specifically for liver care, metabolic vitality and the highest level of antioxidant activity.
The next coffee I received from Purity was their Protect single-origin from Colombia; a light-medium roast that is purposefully sourced and roasted for liver care, metabolic vitality, and high antioxidant activity. This bag of beans actually has more chlorogenic acids than any of Purity’s other coffees.

Not only is Protect scientifically formulated for liver vitality, but it’s also USDA Organic certified, Smithsonian Bird Friendly, Rainforest Alliance certified, and honeyed processed.
While it does have high chlorogenic acids, it’s also well-balanced with sugars, leaving a sweet and tasty easy sip.
The tasting profile for Protect includes toasted hazelnut, brown spice, and sweet, juicy citrus notes. Purity’s Protect aims to reflect the science of liver health as its benefits work together to provide an energizing brew that is not only healthy but helpful.

When I opened the bag of Protect that I received, I could smell an aroma that was toasty, spiced, and sweet. Overall, it was very warm and welcoming.
After I brewed a cup for myself, I noticed that all the flavor profiles came through really well, especially the hazelnut and brown spice. This was a really good and well-balanced light-medium roast that was easy to drink and delicious.

Flow: Original Medium Roast
Our original medium roast coffee produced using exceptional quality specialty-grade organic coffee beans, lab tested for purity, high in antioxidants, and specifically formulated to support overall health and wellness.
The third bag of coffee that was sent in the box from Purity was Flow, which is their original medium roast coffee made with high-quality, specialty-grad organic Arabica beans.
Flow is high in antioxidants, tested for purity, USDA Organic certified, Smithsonian Bird Friendly, Rainforest Alliance Certified, and specifically formulated to support overall health.

This coffee comes from producers in Nicaragua, Honduras, and Colombia, and it’s fully traceable. Purity also focuses on the high levels of antioxidants and nutrients provided in this coffee. Over the years, Flow has been refined in order to create a balanced and delicious coffee that retains a high amount of chlorogenic acids.
Overall, Flow gives a clean, sustained energy lift that improves physical and mental performance.

The tasting profile for Purity’s Flow includes roasted nuts, dark chocolate, and juicy apple notes. This is seen in the sweet and bright aroma that comes from the beans once a bag of this healthy coffee is opened and carries on very well through the brew.
Once I tasted Flow, I was pleasantly surprised. It was nutty and chocolatey smooth with a bright and crisp apple finish. It definitely left me wanting more, which is good because it’s so healthy!

Ease: Dark Roast
Our balanced, darker roasted coffee with a full-bodied flavor, high in antioxidants, lower in acidity, with prebiotic benefits ideal for supporting gut health and overall wellness.
The final bag of coffee that I received from Purity Coffee is Ease; a balanced dark roast that’s got full-bodied flavor, high antioxidants, low acidity, and prebiotic benefits that support gut health.
This coffee is specifically formulated for easy digestion, USDA Organic certified, Demeter Certified Biodynamic, Smithsonian Bird Friendly, and Rainforest Alliance certified.

While Ease is Purity’s dark roast, it’s important to note that the beans are not roasted dark enough to produce unhealthy levels of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAH) because they are taken out before it reaches that temperature.
A good dark roast coffee can also be great for people who may have digestive issues and can even have positive effects on the brain.

Though Ease may have chlorogenic acids, it contains about half the amount as Flow does. The tasting profile for Ease dark roast includes dark chocolate, roasted walnut, and brown spice.
Upon opening my bag of Purity’s Ease, I was met with a sweet and rich aroma accompanied by a nice walnut undertone. The smell of the brown spice note really came through once I brewed some of this dark roast.
I have to say it tasted very rich and smooth, the walnut and spice adding a nice balance to the flavor profile. Overall, this was a very bold and comforting drink.

It’s also very tasty, so it’s clear to see why it’s so popular!
Purity Coffee: Roasting
Before Purity even begins the roasting process of their beans, they perform independent laboratory tests for pesticides, mold, mycotoxins, and heavy metals.
Since their goal is consistency, they make sure every batch of coffee goes through rigorous testing to ensure uncontaminated, healthy, and delicious coffee every time.
Once tested, their coffee is then roasted to order, tested for toxins once again, and shipped out within 48 hours. This may be a lot more work, but Purity wants to guarantee that its coffee is truly as healthy as it claims to be.
Their coffee is also 65% higher in antioxidants than other organic coffees since a proprietary roasting protocol allows them to retain more.
Purity Coffee: Pricing
At the time of writing, each 12-ounce bag of Purity Coffee is priced at $24, except for Purity Protect, which is priced at $26. Of course, as mentioned earlier, subscribers get 20% off these bags. So, with a subscription, 12-ounce bags of Flow, Ease, and Calm are priced at $19.20 each and Protect is priced at $20.80.
If you’re looking at the 5-pound bags of coffee, then each bag would be $96 with a subscription for Flow, Ease, and Calm, and $103.20 with a subscription for Protect. Plus, if you end up spending $60 or more on your Purity Coffee order, you get free shipping!
